SkinPen is an FDA approved microneedling device used to treat and improve conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots and pigment issues. It is also referred to as skin needling or collagen induction therapy (CIT). There is little downtime of 24-48 hours with minimal redness. Microneedling is not as aggressive as laser treatments but is more aggressive than a microdermabrasion. A topical anesthetic is applied to the face and left on for 30 minutes prior to treatment. This treatment is great for anyone looking for rejuvenation with minimal downtime. The recommended treatment is once a month for 6 months for optimal results. The treatment takes about 1 hour to complete.
