About Dr. Rice

What is a resident?

Dr. Ashley Rice was born in Wheelersburg, Ohio and graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio with a Bachelor’s of Science in microbiology and a minor in dance. She attended medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, where she co-founded the Dermatology Interest Organization and graduated with academic honors. She is currently in her second-year of dermatology residency at Campbell University/Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton and Wilmington, North Carolina, which is where she also completed her traditional rotating internship. Dr. Rice has published in numerous journals and presented posters at multiple national conferences. During residency training, she has developed a passion for acne, skin cancer prevention and procedural dermatology. In addition, Dr. Rice is committed to serving underserved populations. One of her favorite aspects of dermatology is meeting patients of various backgrounds and listening to their stories. Outside of work, Dr. Rice enjoys spending time with her husband, Patrick, and their standard goldendoodle, Max. She also loves hiking, traveling and swimming at Wrightsville Beach.
